The Board of Dental Health Care and the Dental Hygienist Committee oversees the practice of dentistry, dental hygiene, dental assisting, expanded function dental auxiliary, and community dental health coordinator in New Mexico.
The board sets professional and educational standards to obtain and maintain licenses for dentist, dental hygiene, dental assistants, expanded function dental auxiliary, and community dental health coordinator practicing in New Mexico.
The board also investigates complaints from the public about unprofessional or unethical conduct, and takes disciplinary action when required.
